Would my rock be ok?

If I set it in some sealed tubs on the back porch for a month in salt water without a pump, or would it all become dead rock?

Where are you at in Cali? What are the temp swings. If your getting high temps during the day and low at night could kill most of the life on the rock. Is your tank an established tank or is this for a new setup? If its for a new setup you could cure it right in the tank.

sounds good, but add the pump for best resilts

What!?!

Sealed in without any form of waterflow in the elements is far from a good idea.

I would NOT advise such action.

Keep it in at the very least a temp controlled room, with some minimal circulation at the very least. You are also going to have to test the salinity if its going to be weeks as you say.

hey levi, the pump IS FOR THE WATER FLOW, duh

You are making it sound as though his original plans have no problems. If he does what he is asking he will be causing some serious problems.

You make it sound like his plan is good, it isnt. I am just trying to give the thread starter sound advise, and saying it "sounds good" is not good advise. True you finish the post by saying to use a pump, but theres really not an option here. Thats what you are making it seem like.

So you can leave off your "DUH" comments next time.

All I was doing was correcting your statement, so Inigma knows there is not an option on the pump.
