For my first clam, would it be a bad idea to get a Crocea Clam??? I almost bought one today.. but i am nervous.. what if it dies... lol... IDK what to do.. .. should i go for it??? anyway heres a little about my tank:
30g. Oceanic Cube
6 months (on the 15th of Jan.)
1 Occelaris Clown
1 Bicolor Blenny (do you think he will be a problem??)
2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
1 Serpant Starfish
150w MH 10K
130w PC Actinic
35lbs. of Liverock
1 Green Bubble Coral
Xenia
Rock Anemone
Mushrooms
Favia
Frogspawn (bleached.. i had an Alk. accident [one of the reasons i am afraid of getting one.. what if it happens again!!] that happened when my tank was like 4 months old)
Acan (bleached from Alk. accident)
Zoanthids
Cheato

also Calcium is always high.. would it be a abd Idea to start with a Crocea Clam?? Should i Start with a Dersa clam?? should i go for it?? or wait till my tank is like 1 yr. old ???? thanks in advance

I think you should be fine, keep a little distance between the frogspawn and the clam though as the frogspawn is very aggressive and can sting your clam, my frogspawn stung my derasa clam and caused part of its mantle to shrink for half a day.

I think with a tank of your size.... you need to be selective. If you want a crocea clam, def get a crocea. don't waste it on something you trully don't want just because your nervous. with everything you stated about you tank, you'll be more than fine. High calcium is not a problem for clams at all. Go with the crocea, just make sure you chose a healthy looking specimen and aclimate it well and you should be in good shape. Best of luck

Yes, the bi-color will be a problem. The majority are clam killers.

There are countless reports on RC of Bi-Colors killing clams. You will need to get him out first.

What are your CA and ALK? Clams are sensitive to changesin both.

um.. il have to test my Water, i guess no clam for me then :( he is my fav. fish..maybe when i set-up another tank that he can go in.. ohh well.. well look at the bright side the longer i wait the better right??? lolololol

What does that mean? "Laughing out loud, out loud, out loud, out loud"? or "Laughing out loud, Oh, laughing out loud, Oh, Laughing"..........I'm being sarcastic, of course.

Keep in mind that B-Colors nibble on SPS too, so you will be severley limiting what you can keep. Hope this helps!
