Would you use it?

I got this tank for a good deal, and am excited to upgrade from my current setup. See below pictures of a chip in the front left corner. I'd rather know now while it's a 40 dollar "oops" rather than when it's full of livestock and ends up a tragedy. Hoping it's no big deal... but would you use it?

I would not use it as it is a substantial chip. I'm not sure how old the tank is but it looks like the silicone isn't in the best shape either. My eyes may be playing tricks on me but it looks like the silicone is coming up to me from the outside to the inside of the seam.

I wouldn't risk it personally. It may hold water, but that doesn't mean it's okay. if you add live rock etc it will increase the pressure.

Realistically it will probably hold water and would be fine, but I wouldn't risk it.

The real question is... are you a gamblin' man?

I personally wouldn't use it. It may hold water now and for a while, but you won't know for sure. I had a 20g I used as a QT with a real tiny chip near of one of the corners. Worked well for over a year, but then one day one of the glass panes split from where the chip was located. Luckily I was home and was able to save the fish.

If that tank broke loose it for sure would do more than 40.00 damage. Might keep it as an emergency quarenteen tank.

That doesn't leave much of a margin for error. I might use it for something out in the garage or a fishroom with floor drains. I wouldn't chance it otherwise.

Yea.... I'm not really a gambling man, and I think it would drive me crazy in the long run just knowing that was there. I thought about it more yesterday and realized... if I'm even having to ask this question, I probably know the answer lol. Decided to order a new Aqueon 65g w/ the overflow. More expensive, but at least I'm getting 15 more gallons out of it haha.
