WOW... Mantis's new tank

I just saw the tank in person last night and all I can say is "wow". It sure is an impressive work of art.

Once you get those lights done it will be amazing. 100% amazing.

Schwing. If that was a president it would be Aquariabraham Lincoln!! (ok - slight ripoff of Wayne's World)

Seriously, Brad, that rocks!!!

So tell me how long it really took to set it up. I noticed on July 1, there's a kid in the tank, and July 4 it was full of corals.

Something tells me there was more than three days involved.

I'd like to know more about the sump, how you access things under the tank (is there a basement), and why is there a notch cut out near the window right where the stand meets the wall.

I can answer one of your questions as I have seen the tank in person...

The sump is just a Rubbermaid Poly tank that is in the basement about 40 feet away from the tank...

That's correct, this tank has a whole room of support equipment in the basement.

I got the tank around the middle of May, and everything transfered over around July 1st.

I don't have anything under the tank but storage, everything is downstairs.

The notch is for the pipes that go downstairs.

I am going to build a window seat and bookcase to conceal those pipes when I have the time. Right now I'm building a suspended light canapy to match the stand as well as messing with the programs on the Aquatronica that I just got.

This is an awesome setup.

Could you provide us with more info of your setup?
dimensions, equipment, return pumps, etc....

AH! !!!!

and pictures !!

Hey, Reef Man.
Thanks for the compliment. My tank is still a work in progress.
As soon as I get the canapy and other woodworking done I'm going to do some more documentation.

By the way, I love vacationing in Mexico. Cozumel is one of my favorite places on earth.
