Brad,

Okey answer me this... If you were to do this ALL over again, what would you change?

Hard to believe, but I would change nothing.

How are you coming with the "canopy"?

Hard to believe, but it's not done yet.

No pulled back pics till it is.

hey mantis...great tank, great thread(s)...I'm just starting to lurk on here...I actually did the faux sand bed about 2 yrs ago with the same stuff you used, but I've had major problems ever since. I'm wondering if you've encountered anything yet?

*when I say problems, I know why I have them, lack of flow, and there's just no where for the detritus to go so it settles on top and looks like...well...poop. But I think H20 Chemistry is thrown off by the epoxy as well...just a hunch though and interested IYHO.

After almost a year, I have no complaints. I have lots of flow and most of the detritus ends up in the sump where I siphon it. Water chemistry seems normal and unaffected by the epoxy.

Yea but I changed my mind like 6 times:
(number of halides, reflectors, whether to use actinic VHO or not)

3 400 watt HQI halides in LAIII reflectors.
Bulbs: 2 Helios 20K that run for 9 hours
1 Radium in the center that only runs for 5 hours.

In the process of adding 2, 6 foot VHO actinics that will run for 10 hours.

Everything will be suspended in an Oak and Art Glass canopy.

I'm dying to see this canopy! Lets have at it pics and details. Maybe even some construction pics. How about a shot at your basement "command center" in which you store your rubbermaid and other goodies?
