Wow moon lights

I have a 16x16x16 acryllic cube with a flat acrillic top so I went to the lfs and paid 19$ for a duel led actinic moon light which I taped to the acrillic lid. OMG how cool. I have a 150w metal halide 20k light hanging from ceiling so when it went off the tank was dark. All my tiny sps frags and my orange riccordia are so glowing plus there is plenty of dark behind my rocks for sleeping fish, so cool. This hobby can be cool sometimes lol.

glowing corals cool! Thats what they call florecence. Fwiw, moonlight reflects the exact spectrum of the sun, and is not blue, except when in deep water where the blue does not filter out. But fwiw in deep water where its that blue, it would be dark anyways. :D

If you really want to see a cool moonlight, do a search for moontube on ebay. (I have no affiliation with this guy, I just bought one a while back) It's on it's own controller. 2 leds in a very small tube. You turn the switch on the controller to auto and it will automatically dim and brighten your LEDs on a 29.5 day lunar cycle. They are off for the new moon, obviously. If you need more than one, there's another wire that will plug multiple tubes in together and run them simultaneously. You can also dim/brighten them manually with the controller. When set to auto though, you're not supposed to plug it into a seperate timer. Just leave them on 24/7. LEDs last for many years anyway.
The single tube puts down plenty of light for my 38.

Just look up the moon tube. that is awsome. Im going to have to get 1 after i finish getting my t5 actinics

Yeah, my last fixture had them but then I bought a Tek and they don't have moonlights so since I like them, I had to search for something. I ran across the thing on ebay and I couldn't be happier. It's a really nice color and the two LEDs are real close together so when you look at the surface of the tank, it looks like the moon on the surface. The tube is much smaller and lighter than I expected. Very easy to mount.

You can click on my red house to see pics of my tank. There's a couple (bad) moonlight pics at the bottom and one on the second page. It's at half moon setting in those pics.

I e-mailed them and said how satisfied I was with the product and let them know about RC. I said they oughta be a sponsor here because I knew a lot of people would buy these things but I never got a reply back. They shipped it quick though.
