I have something in my 20 that has flourescent bands on each side of the top of his maybe 1 or 11/2" body. I hear no clicking but was wondering if that could be some type of shrimp.

apparently there's a big population of mantis shrimp in the Cheasepeake, one of these years when I get back East to visit family, we're going to rent a place down at Chincateague again, lot of fond memories of fishing and crabing when I was a kid.

A 15 inch Lysiosquillina glabriuscula from the Atlantic would indeed be a record. This species has only been recorded to a little under 10 inches. Lysiosquillina maculata from the Indo-Pacific has been recorded to 42 cm and I recently caught on that was 33 cm. At that size, they are impressive.

They are selling a mantis that is very similar to this one at City Pets in houston. I thought about getting him, but I didn't think getting a spearer was a good idea.
