wrasse and gender

do female wrasse only change into males in the presence of other female wrasse of the same species, or do they with age as well?

if so will female flasher wrasse change in the presence of other species of flashers?

Difficult to say. usually they need a reason to change.

How do you even tell the gender difference in wrasses?

Some wrasses, mostly fairies, have black spot right by the tail when they are female, males don't have this spot. Males are also brighter in coloration than females.
