Wrasse And Ich?

I was told by a LFS that wrasses of the cirrhilabrus sp. usually don't get ich because of the thick slime coat that they have and that at night when lights are out they build a cocoon around themself that protect them plus they slough off the slime and everything else with it. Is this true or have you heard of this? Also want to know if this apply to the wrasses of the Pseudocheilinus sp. ? Thanks

This is from personal experience and not recommended however...

I had ich in the DT pretty bad infecting a bellus angel, 2 chromis.

There was a plain jane flasher wrasse in there as well. Paracheilinus filamentosus or cyaneus. It was the only one that didn't get ich.

I have left in the DT for going on 6 weeks now and treated the others in hypo.

I plan to add the fish back in one at a time to see if the ich is still active in the DT. However, the wrasse has not come down with anything yet.

This will likely fail. :thumbdown

I remember when all of my fish got ich except for my small red coris wrasse. So I believe they do have a stronger defense against ich.
