Wrasse and Linkia Starfish

Will a wrasse eat a Linkia? I've heard that they will eat up the cleaning Crew but wondering if that will include larger stars?

what kind of wrasse? the wrasses compose 1000s of species from parrot fish to tiny possum wrasses

lunare, banana, blue heads, red coris, will eat stars or at least pick on them to heck and back

6-lines, fairies, flashers, possums, some of the smaller wrasses probably wont...

That makes sense. Here is what I am looking at right now but may change a little...

Exquisite Fairy Wrasse

Pink margin fairy wrasse

Have Melanarus Wrasse

Mystery wrasse

Royal flasher wrasse

ditch the mystery and you should be fine, ive seen those guys be super mean and very determined to kill other wrasses. 6-lines are in the same family as mystery wrasses and i had a flasher floating in a bag and the six line was trying to get to him...

the melanarus might nip the star, ive seen melenarus kill cleaner shrimps and emerald crabs for sport

the fairies and flashers are more open water and seem to prefer pods or planktonic food rather than picking on large cuc stuff just my experience with them.

make sure you have lid or mesh on top of that tank... flashers and fairies will jump not if but when

Thanks for going in depth. I hope things are fine with having the Melanarus as he has already entered the tank. The others are on my want list but I'm looking to get either pairs or a male with females. The Melanarus has been in the tank for about a week and luckily hasn't messed with the blood shrimp I have in there. Not yet anyway. And I can't tell if snails and hermits are disappearing but there seem to be enough still moving around.

I did seem to notice that the night following him being added there didn't seem to be as many bristle worms but maybe that is a coincidence since they come out at night and he is usually hiding before the lights turn out?

That stinks about the Mystery. I love the colors on it but I would rather not have to deal with a PITA fish.

If you have any other experience please feel free to share! I'm like a sponge!

You filter feed? Lol

I would just watch the melanrus with every new fish addition they seem to each have their own personalities and some are better than others. It's when he gets to be 6in and his full male hormones kick in that make them little turds, I had a melanrus in a tank at work that would get sick pleasure from knocking snails off the glass even knocked a tuxedo urchin off he just hated stuff on the glass I sat there for like 10mins and watched him attack the price tag on the outside glass... He was a little bugger
