I am upgrading one of my systems to a rimless... I have three wrasses in this tank I don't want to lose to carpet surfing....
1. Gray Head
2. Leopard
3. Melanurus

In want to move them to my other reef which already has three wrasses ....

1. Richmonds
2. Checkerboard/marble
3. Vrolik

Top three are more mature and larger... But I believe to be peaceful...

Will there be any issues when adding them with my other tank.... 150 gallon mixed reef?

Thanks

There will definitely be some posturing, and depending on howaggressive some are, perhaps worsr, but the fact that there have been multiples in both tanks bodes well. The most likely candidates for aggression would be between the melanurus and the vroliks as they are the most similar in appearance, but I have them together, and although there is definitely a heirarchy, it is manageable.

I agree. I have housed many of these species together with little to no problem. Keep a close eye on the vrolik's and the melanurus as stated by EB. they are fairly closely related and may go through several territorial disputes before calming down. Be sure you keep a tight lid on this system. During this time, jumping is almost a guarantee. Good luck!

lol rimless owner here too.. i always feared carpet surfing fishes… why not u try what mrsaltwater tank did… that top mesh thingy ..works and doesn't spoil the rimless look
(he says in that video that his wrasses jump at least once a day).. and maybe you could rearrange the rock work and turn the lights off and introduce.. or you could simple pull all the wrasses out of the tank and add the more timid ones first so that they can establish themselves and later(a week or what later) add the more dominant ones. trust me wrasses can really go at it hard..just be careful and be patient ..also when u add them together try to increase the feedings a little to avoid competition as imo i noticed that wrasses don't fight at all until one thing goes slightly wrong and then BAM!!! holy hell those things put the territorial groupers to shame.. good luck
