Wrasse Compatibilty?

I have a 180 g sps tank, with lots of rock and caves. Currently, have 12 fish total. Of the 12 fish, one so happens to be a six-line wrasse, which is quite peaceful and gets along with the rest of the community.

I would like to add a mystery wrasse to the mix. Has anyone had success with these two fish co-existing?

What are your thoughts?

Unless your mystery wrasse is much larger then the sixline I think your sixline will harass your mystery to death, since they are friom the same genus. So what would you prefer a fish that cost less then $20 killing a fish that cost more then $150 you decide. Mystery Wrasses are known for being passive and skittish when new to a tank, I know someone who lost his $200 Mystery Wrasse to a $10 Bicolor Dottyback...ouch and he has a 240gal tank.

I would not trust a 6-line with any other type of wrasse. The 6-line will be like a little attack torpedo. Possum wrassese can hold their own OK when established, but they are very timid when new. I would not hold out much hope for a mystery in the tank with a 6-line.

OK. Thought it could be possible to to house both in a large tank with lots of hiding spaces, caves and such for refuge. It's just very tempting to see a fish you really would like to add and hold out hope theirs a way to make it workout.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just have to pass on the mystery wrasse I had my eye on.

catch that sixline and give him away then you can do a bunch of flasher or fairy wrasses as well as a mystery wrasse. There are so many more attractive wrasses than the 6line.

If you can find out which hole he sleeps in, after lights out you can just cover the hole and remove the rock to a bucket of tank water. Of course that may not work if you can't remove that rock.
