My Scott's fairy wrasse decided to mysteriously die the other day. No visible signs of distress, so who knows?

Anyway, I'd like to get a couple of more wrasse that would be compatible with the Longfin fairy wrasse that I have. Any suggestions?

i don't know i have a few wrasses and they all seem to do ok. Mines nto a scott's longfin fiary wrase it's jsut ome cheapo fiary wrasse. i have 3 of those and 1 yellow coris and 1 potters they're doing great but i have a long tank.

most any of the fairys well do fine with him..i would probally pass on an condes and redfin beacuse of thier color and size are close to the longfin..also any flashers or possuam wrasse would be fine as well

Well, I guess the question is moot.

After 4 weeks of QT (with the same kind of top as my main with no probs), and changing 1 to 2 gallons of water EVERY day, I finally put the longfin into my main tank.

Well, the next day I go to look for him and low and behold, there he is on my floor!

What's funny/ strange/ ironic/ whatever is that my last longfin did the same thing! It was during a power outage and I thought he may have slipped through the top that was ajar for the battery operated bubblers. This is why I bough another one.

But nooooooooooooo...... the little suckers somehow fit perfectly through the eggcrate openings. I mean, they could just barely fit if they tried. How the heck are they jumping through the tiny hole?

eggcrate will not work at all...and for the real small fairys like the longfin the for sure will get through..the only sure thing is a glass or acrylic top..i use a mesh top and it has helped with the small ones but i did have one get through...sorry about you loss but if you don't change your top you will have the same happen again

wrasseguy, won't the mesh block a lot of light? How are you dealing with that?

I basically went around my canopy with gutter guard, but this is not foolproof because the tank is undrilled so it will be difficult to get the gutterguard around all of the pipes hanging off of it perfectly. :/
