I am currently designing a SPS 40 breeder with a 29 gallon sump. I am extremely fascinated by wrasses. I would like all peaceful if possible. Can you guys recommend which ones to get and how many? Thank you!

bells is about 1800 for a pair..id look at some of the wrasse discussions and go from there. come back with a few YOU like and well tell you about them more in detail and if they would work or not. I currently hve a 40b with roughtly 8 wrasses in it, many are only temporary, but still they all are males coexisting with eachother, naoke, hooded, gridled, punctaus, rosy fin, yellow flanked, filimented flasher, condi, christmas wrasse

This is what I like:

Carpenter's Flasher
Lineatus Fairy
Blue Star Leopard
McCosker's Flasher
Red Velvet
Mystery
and now the christmas wrasse!

Carpenter's Flasher - fairly peaceful but can pick on other wrasses
Lineatus Fairy - very peaceful but might get too big for a 40B
Blue Star Leopard - no experience
McCosker's Flasher - peaceful wrasse
Red Velvet - my big male is a tad aggressive but nothing too bad - also a bigger wrasse IMO
Mystery - pretty but don't buy if you want fairy/flasher wrasses as well - can't coexist.

I'd say most fairies actually get too big for a 40g tank. Maybe a lubbocks or something of similar size. Lots of flashers to choose from though. In addition to those already mention, check out linespot and blue flashers.

Thank you for the suggestion, they both look great!

Keep us updated on what you get....there are plenty of wrasses nuts around here :)

LADD sold a gorgeous Line Spot yesterday.
