Wrasse has scales missing

I picked up this Lubbock fairy wrasse two weeks ago and it looked like this when I got it but I didn't really notice it until I got it home. I asked the seller about it and he said another fish was probably attacking it and the scales should grow back. He eats really well and energy is good. Do you think there's anything else wrong with him?

Sometimes the loss of scales can indicate the beginning of infection. I'd keep an eye out for redness and continue to maintain clean water and offer healthy foods with a bit (small amt b/c it's in QT) of hufa additions like Selcon.

I’m freaking out. I think I really screwed up. The wrasse was eating great and full of energy, so after exactly 4 weeks of QT I put him in my DT on Saturday. Last night I noticed he has some black colored scales now! Not black spots like pepper (supposedly what black ich looks like) but solid black areas about ½ cm on both sides of his body where his tail meets his body. Hard to get a picture because he swims really fast. Have I just infected my whole tank of 11 fish with something? During QT I did TTM and treated with prazi and metro. The other two wrasses quarantined with him look perfectly healthy.

Now I just looked at the picture above and realized the black spot was there and I didn't notice it, as I was more concerned about the missing scales. Now that spot has doubled in size and is on the other side as well. What could it be? I am so stupid. I was impatient and wanted to get these wrasses out of QT because one of them was very skittish and seemed stressed by being in the small tank (10 gallon).
