wrasse help

so i just recently got a wrasse which he practically lives in the sand well he was baried in the sand. and my female maroon shes likes to knock rocks over... well i had an avalanche... would he of survived....and if so how long would he be under there for... and how long should i wait to see if he comes out the sand before i decide if hes dead or not

What kind of wrasse? Are you sure the rocks fell on the wrasse?

Some can stay buried for more than a week.

its a checkerboard wrasse im not sure they fell on him but i just got him a couple days ago and he was out for like 10 minutes in 2 days and then had some rocks fall and i had to reset the tank up.... damn a week really how do they eat while being burried

dont worry for now as there is nothing that you can do except let nature take its course .
A- the wrasse got crushed and died so be on the look out for an ammonia spike etc.
B-your wrasse if in great health and can stay buried for weeks with no ill effects . i have had them disappear for over a month and now they are doing great . i would suggest that you never disturb a wrasse when they are buried as they are in their "safe zone" so let them stay there . stay away from the tank and and observe closely and you may find that he is actually coming out and quickly burrowing when you enter the room . also they for some reason take longer to adjust to their new time zone and may be out of whack thus coming out at night for a quick look then burrowing again .
they are very different in their initial acclimation of the first month and this is the reason they are tough . give him a chance and some time and let nature take its course because there is really nothing you can do except wait and see ,thats your best option IMO.

ok thanks for the info put me to ease a bit still worried bout the little guy tho lol... when i set the rocks back up i didnt burry them in the sand just set them on top of the sand. so i wouldnt crush him i tried to be as careful as possible

i wouldnt of rescaped it but i have corals and stuff glue to rocks didnt wanna get them smashed either so i rescaped it but was careful bout it
