wrasse help?

Yes, they are jumpers. Most wrasse species are not compatible with ornamental shrimp...tasty snacks. Most are reef safe. Is there a particular wrasse you are considering?

There are some exceptions to the general rule about wrasses being jumpers and/or eating inverts. Leopard wrasses generally aren't jumpers, and will typically leave larger ornamental shrimp alone, such as fire shrimp. Keep in mind, however, that fish are like people in the respect that they all have individual characteristics that might be the exception to the rule.
Also, leopard wrasses really aren't beginner fish. An eight-line wrasse would be a much better choice as far as being hardy, staying relatively small, and eating anything offered with gusto.

My leopard also eats baby snails. Mainly turbos.

Completely safe with corals and motile inverts.
Notorious jumpers.
Halichoeres:
Safe with corals. Larger specimens of larger species can pick off crabs, snails, shrimp.
Can jump, but more likely to go for the sand.
Need sand.
Coris:
Sort of safe with corals, because they can flip rocks or break frags or bury corals in sand while looking for food. Not safe with motile inverts as adults.
Can jump, but more likely go for the sand, like Halichoeres.
Need sand.

BTW - Another wrasse that's suitable for small tanks, is -generally- easy to keep, not prone to jumping, and peaceful is a possum wrasse - Wetmorella albofasciata. The only "no-no" with possum wrasses is keeping them in a smaller tank with boisterous tank-mates. They're somewhat shy, so they could go hungry if out-competed for food.
