wrasse ID

Guy local to me is selling it and I want to buy it but haven't seen anything like it before and want to research it first.
 
That's what he has it listed as. I've never heard of it. Any experience with it or anything you can tell me about it?
 
I've never personally owned one. They are one of the larger halichoeres .
 
More than likely going to pass on this fish. I'm very nervous that he would wreak havoc on one of my other warsses like the bipartitus pair, lineatus, or rhomboid. All of which are more expensive than this fish. I don't care for aggression in my tank.
 
He'd probably be fine with your other wrasses, but definitely would cause havoc an all your mobile inverts.
 
The guy said he has had him for four years and kept the wrasse with cleaner shrimp as well as snails and hermits and the fish has been a model citizen and neve bothered anything. He said he even had him with a clam for several years. Thinking about giving it a shot afterall.
 
It's certainly possible he might leave all that alone. Not the norm, but possible. Ask the current owner about feeding; I bet you find he feeds several times per day. Provided you can also keep him well fed, there's no reason to think his behavior might drastically change.
