wrasse ID

Definitely a Lubbocks. Careful if you have other wrasses in the tank, mine's a bully. Killed my Mellanarus :(

Really?? They are known to be one of the more peaceful Cirrhilabrus towards other Wrasses. They can stand their own when provoked, but are rarely an "instigator". Mine is in my 125 along with 10 other Wrasses and has never gone after another, even when it was the only Wrasse in the tank and I added the second. I do always use an acclimation box, which likely helps as well.

Also surprised by this as mine is a really pussycat and having kept many in a lfs situation with other wrasse (ok not the same as settled in a reef) and never seen any aggression. If anything I find them more timid than most wrasse species, taking longer to settle and become bold.

My experiences, too have been that lubbocks are quite peaceful. But I guess that also shows that certain individual specimens can go against the "norm."
