I have a Halichoeres chrysus (Yellow Wrasse) that is not good at all. This started Friday AM and I have him in a separate tank. I've had this mated pair for months and the female is doing wonderfully, no signs of any disease.
He's eating and acting somewhat normal but he can't swim correctly. He at times appears to loose his balance - kind of swimming vertically.
His tail fin is clamped.
He is dragging his tal below him a lot of the time, like it is weighted down at about 45 to 60 degrees.
His tail join area (lack of a better term) seems to be swollen.
The caudal fin area is "Orange/Red" but seems to be his coloration, very hard to tell. I also have a female and his area is much redder than the females.
All my water quality parameters are "0".
Here are a few photos, the first is how he normally looks and all the others are him sick.
Normal looking - and doing wonderful
Sick - note the clamped tail
Note by the tail area it appears swollen.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
