did some searching and found this:

Twelve Line Wrasse

Twelve Line Wrasse, Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia, is an active, colorful, reef-safe fish that does well once acclimated. As is true with its cousin, the Six Line Wrasse, it can be a touchy shipper but typically does fine if extra time is allowed for the water exchange steps of acclimation. This Wrasse is also known as the Four Line Wrasse. Presumably, it depends on whether its four main stripes are considered a single stripe, or whether the bordering stripe above and below each white stripe is counted, thus making twelve stripes. Having a maximum size around 3 inches, caution must be used to not place the Twelve Line Wrasse with larger or more aggressive fish. It should be the only member of the Pseudocheilinus in each aquarium, unless plenty of space is provided and the introduction is simultaneous. This genus does include the popular Six Line Wrasse. As with other members of the Wrasse family, its diet should be carnivorous including meaty frozen foods or Brine Shrimp. A sand bed and Live Rock should be provided for all Wrasses. Live Rock provides numerous small life forms that Wrasses consider a tasty treat as well as another place to hide when they feel threatened. The Twelve Line Wrasse can be a leaper and, therefore, requires a covered aquarium.

dan thats what the above stuff i posted says too. they are known as 4 line or 12 line. this is the reason that they stated

IME;
.... It's bad idea to keep it in a tank with a 6 line unless it is big tank, and a lot of cryptic rockwork and plenty food morsels for them to peck at. They can fight. I made that mistake a few years ago in my 75 gallon. One got it's lower jaw nearly ripped off. Luckily I rescued it and it healed in another tank and lived another 2 years before it just "dissapeared". They tend to be prone to Protozoian and some other infections and should be scrutinized heavily for 3 weeks before added to any healthy reef tank unless they can be guaronteed "diseasefree".

The 4,6,8, and 12 line wrasses are "hit and miss" as best. Meaning, some do great, others kinda just.... umm whither away and die, or all together "vanish" in the tank.

good info! i plan on adding him to my 55 reef which has no current wrasse inhabiting. hope i get a good specimin. i will look em over closely for any signs of stress/desease. thanks dave!

im excited to get one of these fish! paul at union aquarium is gonna order some next week (as long as they are available and he said they ussually are). by the way dan he said that they are always listed as 4 line wrasse not 12. maybe the 4 line wrasse is the proper term but 12 line has been spun off that as the hobby does so much.

hey matt do ya still need that randalls goby? cause i am positive that we can get'em. beautiful fish they way they are always throwing up that signal (false eye)on thier dorsal fin.
