I am down to one last wrasse, so far i cant tell if he is afflicted or not, but over the last 2 months i have had my 6 member wrasse collection drop like flies. So far those afflicted have been...
Coris Wrasse
Exquisite Wrasses x 2
Solorensis Wrasse
Carpenter Wrasse
The symptoms start with disrupted swimming patterns, loss of bouncy control, twitching, and slight discoloration. It ends with the fish being QT with copper, clout and other meds depending on which fish it was, I tried different solutions. The fish ends up on its side, barely able to breath, laying on the bottom, and still maintains some swimming ability, albeit useless as they are unable to feed, but able to escape the net. They seem to want to curve to there side like a broken back in advanced stages. They survive for very long times in this condition presumably starving until I decide enough is enough or they die on there own.
As of now I have stopped introducing any new fish esp wrasses as I've lost a lot of $ due to this disease. I am focusing on my inverts which are worth far more than fish, however I want to point out that all my other fish are unaffected. Gobies, blennies, clownfish, pseudochromis, are all healthy acting and show no signs. The disease takes less than a weak to go from healthy to nearly dead. Does anyone have any ideas what I am dealing with?
