Wrasse swimming upside down, hitting glass

Quick question???? I came home tonight and went out to feed my wrasse and CBB( both in quarantine). I found the wrasse is having trouble swimming... He is upside down, running into things and can't eat. He try's to swim after the food, upside down and then smacks into the glass. Then he gets caught in the current and slaps around a while more before hitting the bottom and starting over... I'm researching now, but does anyone know what this could be? I can't see anything on him externally and his color looks good. CBB is acting normal.

I just read your thread. This morning I awoke to find 4 of my Yellow Tangs in my QT tank doing exactly the same thing.

What was the outcome. Did the wrasse recover? If so what was the remedy?

After some troubleshooting, it was believed it was a gram negative bacterial infection. The only thing I could find local was duramycin. I belive Maracyn 2, or another antibiotic intended for gram negative infections would be perfect.

Unfortunately the wrasse didn't make it.

Yup... After loosing 9 fish in one night due to failing to quarantine fish some years ago, I am religious about it! 6 weeks minimum. I really do need to do the same with snails and corals before I learn another lesson the hard way

This was actually the first ill fish I've had since setting up and using a quarantine tank.

I just had the same thing happen in QT to 2 African Leopard Wrasse. First one purchased at a LFS then 2 days later died, I purchased the other one, and after 48 hrs, (today) swimming upside down & erratically.

Hop do you really think its a bacteria, and not cyanide poisoning?
