Wrasse vs. Mandarin...

I was reading on a few other threads about keeping a wrasse and mandarin in the same tank. The idea was that you can't keep a wrasse and a madarin because they will compete for food. Is this the case with ALL wrasse? Or was it just this one in particular? I believe it was a six line...

pretty much most reef-safe wrasses as they are carnivores and eat this stuff but if you have an established tank, lots of rock and sand, and a booming refugium then your all set (also be careful as some wrasses are territorial, my six line and mandarin don't get along)

I know the Scott's can become aggressive to other Wrasse's especially other males...don't know too much on the McCosker's except they are smaller...don't know much on the Solar...all three are rated as "4's" in Scott Michael's "Marine Fishes" book.

I have two yellow wrasses, one mystery, one radiant, one mandarin and one red scooter blenny and they're all doing fine together. At first when i purchased the mandarin the mystery would pick on the mandarin then later on they're fine.

I have 7 wrasses with a mandarin. Melanarus, mystery, solar, exquisite, filamented, blue sided fairy and a lubbocks and they all get along fine in a 300 gallon.

I have a 6line wrasse and a mandarin in my 90g and both have thrived for a year now with no problems. I have a lot of rock and a full fuge with chaeto in it.
