Are there any wrasses that would be appropriate for a 57g rimless? Yes I have it covered And it is a reef tank. I don't have anything in mind and may not even get one at all. I want the tank to be non aggressive which might not even work with wrasses in general.

Current stock
Pair helfirichis
Gold assessor
Pair clowns
Yasha goby
Pair of mandarins (had for years eat frozen)

I have a similar size tank and have a meleagris leopard wrasse, a melanurus wrasse, and a kwazulu fairy wrasse.

Everyone gets along well, though the melanurus is definitely the boss. Every now and then the leopard will have a nipped fin, but it's yet to progress into a real problem.

The leopard and melanurus are both expert microfauna hunters and may pose a serious threat to the mandarins, a fairy or flasher wrasse may be a safer choice.

So many wrasses would fit your tank nicely. Check out some fairies and flashers, many of these would do good in your tank.

+1 flashers.

McCool, i had a melanarus for 24hrs, nipped my yellow coris' fin so he had to go back to the LFS. They are pretty fish who hunts the whole time they are awake, but definitely not "peaceful".

Thank you all for the responses. I have heard too many horror stories with six lines so I am going to avoid that one.

Would a pair of rhomboids be too much?

too much...money! IMO they are expensive and don't have the best survival rate. There are plenty of beautiful wrasses that are far less costly and more importantly, will do good in your tank!

if tank isnt covered be prepared for these to jump, and if you are going to add any fairy oir flasher wrasse better cover the tank or eventually expect to find them carpet surfing
