Hey guys,
As you all might know, i got an awesome deal on a 120 recently. However, the hazing on the front pane that i thought i could buff out turned out to be crazing. So, after purchasing the 120 starfire that cracked a couple months ago, then this tank, i have no usable tank.

Once again, i am in the market for either a 100 or 120 with a 4 feet footprint. I dont have a preference for glass or acrylic but would like the tank to be in good condition and possibly open top.

Having gone through two tanks already, i really cant spend much so im looking for a used tank. I plan on building the stand myself so that does not need to be included but i would be open to picking it up if works out with the furniture thats already in the house.

TIA,
Theo

ack sorry to hear about the problems with the tanks so far.

how much are you willing to pay for a tank?

acrylic tanks are pretty cheap and as clear as starphire for less price if you get a custom or a production new.

i know there are some great deals at All About Fish on stands / tank combos.

There was a 75 gallon reef ready oceanic tank for under $300. Tank only. I think they're still available. There's also a sale for a 90 gallon reef ready tank as well for about $400.

they're not the most beautiful, but pretty darn good.

I'll sell you my acrylic tank with steal stand as well as unfinish wood frames for $350 it's 48x24x20 It's still running now until I can swap everything over to my new starfire tank. LMK so i can hurry my but up and move the stuff over. Look in my gallary there's a few pictures in there.

It's an acrylic tank tru vu. I can sell the tank alone for $250

BTW: The steal stand alone is worth a few hundred bucks easily if u get it made, the wood is a maple plywood spent over 100 bucks on wood and materials alone.

solitaryensis: are you looking for a tank especially made for open top? I'm pretty sure you can run any tank without a canopy and hang pendants over it. But the thing is, there is always center braces and such to watch out for.

I know that Oceanic has a "tech tank" line of tanks coming out, which has 3 sides starphire, eurobracing, black painted back, reef ready overflows, and cool stands. They should be a tad bit more expensive, but not too bad.

All About Fish quoted me a kick butt deal on a 70G tech tank setup! I'd recommend looking there as well.

If you want a pdf about the products, I can email them to you.

Or part numbers:

120g tech tank 48" x 24.5" x 25" 26705 (black trim), 26995 (stainless trim), 26165 (cherry)

Goodluck!
