I am looking to buy a 2x250 either HQI or metal halide lighting system for my tank. Would prefer something with one ballast etc. That can be mounted inside of a wood canopy. Thanks!

I have two Icecap electronic ballasts (older model with external heat sinks) with Sunlight Supply Reef Optix 3 Plus Reflectors Link to product
The Icecaps can be mounted in about any orientation and include plug connectors to the pendants (handy for servicing).
There are some small rust spots on the housing of the pendants so they don't look "brand new" but they are in good shape. They will come with Phoenix 14k 250w DE bulbs that have been used for 8hrs/day for 8 months (some say these bulbs on an electronic ballast are good for 18 months).
Retail for the ballasts and pendants alone would be about $540. Yours for $350 for both.
