WTB: 46g tank or larger

I'm looking for a larger tank w/stand, etc., to upgrade from my 20g (will be set-up and displayed in our family room). Nothing larger than 48" wide.

Also, any comments/suggestions on glass vs. acrylic tanks, and/or corner bow models?

Almost forgot...I've also got an Oceanic 58g "show" tank (36x18x24 I think?) in whitewashed oak finish with stand (has light, but I think the glass cover may be broken). I think I was asking $200 for that one...

I have a fantastic looking 30 gallon reef tank, drilled overflow, custom stone tiled stand, drilled returns, no pipes over the side... NEW. I'm building the lighthood now, then the door for the stand. I will custom tailor the remaining aspects of the hood, and the door for the stand for the buyer - for cost of materials only. Pm if interested... could help with plumbing and filtration upon rquest.

I'm almost afraid to ask Jason...how much does that stand weigh?

The stand would support 5 times the water... it's built tough! I estimate it at 100-140#. But that's just eyeball. I can manipulate it easily without the tank on, to afraid I'll dump it.

Fred... that would be the beauty part... NATURAL STONE You should see how awesome natural stone reacts to water mess, and salt... it looks more beautiful wet.

If nature stone+water=awesome you should have built the ultimate overflow where the water overflows the tank, rolls down the side, over the natural stone, into a collection pan... just a thought.

somewhere I saw a link to that... seriously... it was called rimless or something cool, overflowed the tank, and accross the glass, and into a 1/2" tray around the tank, and was collected under the tank in the stand.

You're thinking of the guy with the clam tank with the overflow in the middle. Very cool setup (had some sort of taco-related name I think?). I think he had that running for a few months and then ended up needing to sell it...was cool though. I've got similar plans for a 32g cube tank I've got lying around.

I know what Jason is talking about and the sucker was somewhere in the neighborhood of $4000-6000 bucks for a cube of roughly 60 gallons.

Sorry, I knew what I was thinking but types the wrong thing is (I've been running in multiple directions today!). The outlet from the sump was in the middle, not the overflow.
