hey everyone...
i'm hoping to buy a used 55-70g tank from someone. i want to set up a tank with a couple of triggers or maybe a scorpionfish. it doesn't have to be in perfect condition... and if it has a stand too i would love it even more. so let me know if anyone has one to sell. thanks!

brooke- check out craigslist.org for stuff...i've been looking for a sump for my new 90g and saw a bunch of good deals for 55-75g tanks and stands in the sac area.

how's the new light working out for you?

Brooke - are you looking for a reef ready tank (built in overflow box) or just a plain ole tank? I think that Sam (Bluenassarius) is selling a non-drilled one for $85. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=806117

If you want a reefready one, Matt (Wombat2) was selling pretty close to a complete setup for $300. I seen Matt's tank, and it's nice. All you would need is two pumps (mag 5 and/or 9) and a heater. I don't know if he still has it, but it's a really nice setup!

Brooke - just something to consider. A standard 55G usually have the dimension of 48W x 13D x 24H . I used to have a 55G of that dimension, and didn't really like the dimension. The depth was way too shallow for good aquascaping. If I was to go with a 55G, I would pick something that is only 36" wide and a little more depth. I really like the dimension of Matt's tank.

With that said - juskeepswiming tank is pretty cheap! The stand alone is going to cost you at least $100. Don't forget to add in the cost of lights, skimmers (if you get one), sump, pump, heater, and plumbing. Those things can add up really fast. On my 120G, I spent over $200 in plumbing parts.

pm'ed juskeepswimming... yeah it doesn't need to be reef-ready bc i was thinking about doing a fish-only.
