WTB: CO2 tank and Regulator with counter

What are you adding now Garrick???? More crap you don't need????? :)

I assume a calcium reactor is on the list if you are wanting a CO2 and the accessories. Not needed in my opinion. I drip kalk 24/7 and have had no issues with calcium levels not being mantained.

I have a 35g leg tank that has a mag 3 pump connected to it on the bottom to mix my kalk daily. I use an entire can of Mrs. Wages in the container. The pump mixes it daily as mentioned to keep it fresh if you will. I use a reef-filler to draw water from that container and into my sump. This process takes care of my evaporation loss in the tank and keeps my Alk/PH/Calcium all in check.

Works well for me for the last 6 months. The pump can be purchsed at Rods-reef. (reef-filler) Saves a ton of time and is easy to setup. No more buckets or pitchers of water to put in the sump everyday.

lol my kitchen is full of Home Depot Orange buckets and I have made a drip system out of a 3 gallons bucket and thats what I use nightly. Maybe one day I will have to have Garrick take me to see your set up:)

Yes, Todd more un-needed crap, but this way I can just leave dripping the kalk out. I know it is not that difficult to do, but to make my life easier I am going the Calcium Reactor route. Now all I hve to do is drip for evapoation :)

Garrick

you can drip kalk with your 3 gal bucket if you want but I agree with Todd on the reef filler thing(after seeing one)way easier and no floats to get stuck

even with a calcium reactor alot of people still drip kalk to keep up there PH and its easy to do

If you have to drip anyway for evap....drip kalk with the evap and forget the reactor. 1 less thing to maintain and the reef-filler can do all that for you. And cheaper than a reactor. Easier setup also. No CO2 to fill up monthly or whatever the timeframe is. Set the reef filler up and you're done.

Check out Rod's when you go out. You're more than elcome to stop by and see my setup again to get some more ideas. Just give me some notice.

I'm having some problems researching these reef fillers. Is it just an adjustable, low volume pump for replacing evaporated water?

That seems pretty sweet.

I have the 35g tank on the other side of the wall in the bedroom. It sits on the bottom shelf of my shelving unit. I put a hole through the wall to feed the sump. I also hooked my RO unit to the 35g tank with a float valve. I ran the lines from the bathroom, under the carpet and down the wall to that same shelving unit and into the ro.

Everything has worked like a charm thus far.

Todd, what are the demensions of the tank? You've got me cogitating and I'm setting up another tank, so this may work for one or both.

I use the same 35 gal tank. Its dimensions are approsimately 30"Lx22"Hx19"W

Thanks Larry. I did not get an email saying there as a response on this thread last night. Stupid email.

Farm & Fleet carry them Bob. I think I paid $45ish for mine.

And often the kalk would keep up with the demand all on its own without a $600 reactor set up. And with out the CO2 to drive th epH down.. Gotta love kalk (and reef-fillers).

Sullyman, If your tanks are on seperate sumps, the reef-filler also comes in a dual headed model
