WTB....Ehiem 1262

I have one that I was going to use on a closed loop.
But may change my mind and simplify things with a bigger main pump for everything.

What's your time frame and what do you want to pay?
It cost me $129.95 at Premium Aquatics. It's still new in the box, - so I can return it for full credit since I'll be upgrading to something larger.

What are you upgrading to. I have a Mak4 that is about 6 months old or an Iwaki 30RLXT that is about 7 months old that I will trade you. Just let me know if that is an option. The Mak4 would be better for a closed loop than the 1262 as it is pressure rate for 1100 gph and you won't lose near as much with the Head pressure.

I'm thinking of scrapping the closed loop and adding additional outlets from the top of my tank.
Sort of what CStires did: (insert shameless plug here!!)

I really like the clean look with nothing visible from the rear of the tank.
Our current pump is a Velocity T3 it puts out about 800 gph which isn't cutting it for our new 150.
BUT - the T3 is silent as in 32db - So I'm planning on buying a T4 which at 1200 gph is closer to what I need and still at 35db.

does the velocity put off alot of heat? Ive heard that before and just wonder if theres anything to that

I've heard that they are silent but put off a ton of heat. I am sure that you can seach and find out.

Yes - they do add about 1-2 degrees of heat - but they are silent!
Our tank is in the family room - so I'm putting it together with that in mind.
I got a couple of Air King 6" fans from SITC - 200 CFM at 37db.
One over the sump and 2 in the canopy, my tank stays at 78.5^.
