WTB - Frag tank LED's

I'm looking for frag tank LED's. Anyone have anything laying around they want to sell?

While on the subject... Does anyone have experience with those par38 LED's? I'm thinking about trying those since they are so cheap and easy to use. This will be over a 24x24x6 frag tank.

The first saltwater tank I had was a 29g powered by PAR38's. They worked well, cheap, and was a no brainer for me at the time. They grew zoas, lps, and softies pretty well I remember. I sold them off when I went thru upgrade syndrome...

Cool. Do you remember which lights they were? Any chance you have a link? How many did you use?

Corner Reef as a Ocean Revive T247 which is basically a Reefbreeders Photon. I have had pretty good luck in my frag tank with that light.

I'm using an Ocean Revive T247 over my 36 gallon bowfront. I love it. It will grow anything. You can find them new from around $150 to $190.

Thanks for the info everyone. I still would like to go with the par38 fixtures because I can easily add more down the road if I decide to expand the frag tank. It would be just a matter of adding another light over another little tank. The cost factor is also better if I can get away with one over each frag tank. I hope thabizness sees this and can let me know how many of them he used.

It would be interesting to see how they work for corals. I've been seeing some people reporting crazy macro growth with the 3K and 5K versions.

I have a couple lowes 5K's over my fuge and they grow the cheato like crazy. I also have some zoa and montipora cap down there that's doing fine.

I used PAR38s for my coral QT tank and as supplements on my reef, 15-23watt 3 blue and 2 white LED variety. I still have some lying around you can have if you want to try them out, they still work but a few are pretty corroded.

Oh cool. That would be amazing. How many do you think I would need for a 24x24x6' tank? I sent you a pm about the egg crate too.

If it's 6' high I think you'll need a lot! LOL.
