Hey I'm just starting up a new tank and need to fill it with stuff.

Si If anybody has any tub blue zoas that they would be willing to sell that would be great.


So If someone has any message me.

Show me a picture and name the price, oh and a little description too.

Not to shut you down or anything, but Tubs Blue go for like $50 per polyp.

I really don't recommend getting high dollar rare corals for a tank that's just starting up. I would have a hard time recommending any rare frags be put into a tank under 1 yr old..

That's just me..
Trying to save ya some cash that could be spent elsewhere when a tank first starts up.
I think most of us all started with "starter corals" and worked up from there.

Oh and are the blue zoas harder to take care of, or just more expensive?

$50 for tub's blue?? The most expensive I see online is like $15 a pop. Most reefers sell them 1/2 of that price.

Most of your zoas/palys require very similar types of care. The morphs in colors are what make some more expensive than others. Just about everybody has green palys, so they are not 'worth' as much. Conversely, not everyone has cool blue zoas, so the price is at a premium because it is a bit more rare.

Just your classic supply and demand at work here.

I don't need a big colony just like 5-8 polyps.

So I might be able to get blue tubs after all.
 
I have some listed for sale, I'll get better pics tomorrow after work. I just moved them all from the frag rack down to the sand so their still closed up a bit...
 
RC hosts a coral selling/trading forum where you can find a plethora of corals for sale and trade. I have found some great deals on nifty pieces by browsing through that forum. I am sure you will find blue zoanthids if you searched.

Also, our brothers to the west in BAR typically have a quite a few FS posts with typically great prices if you do not want to pay shipping.
 
I wouldn't have to pay shipping, I could just pick them up at the meeting right?

Also what are some other affordable zoas that you would recommend?
 
Definitely check the selling forum for frags. People usually are very fair on prices. Lots of guys in MARS have tubs blues so perhaps if you go to the club meetings some of the guys can sell you a few polyps.

Also check out the zoanthid forum for lots of pics of all the different color morphs of zoos.
 
The propagated coral selling RC forum has people from all over the world, so if you set something up with somebody far away, you would need to ship.

Anybody local you could just meet at their house - or wait until the meeting. Inevitably you will make it through to most MARS homes at some point or another trading. As for zoas - there are hundreds of colors and types. Just do not go looking for one with a fancy name to it and typically you can get them cheap. I know Coral Reef Shop, Exotic, Your Reef, and O st. have many zoa frags for sale cheap that I saw over the weekend. Typically you can get a nice sized frag for less than $15. Check them out!

It's not that I want them for their nice name, I just really like the way they look.
I'm probably going to get like 5 different zoos overall, and I want the mall to be beautiful.
 
Well it seems I'm odd man out on this one..
Yeah I did find some Tubs blue cheaper, they must have gone down in the last year or two.
I bought 2 polyps for almost $95 and they did not even retain their color after a month!!!!

So I kinda have bad feelings for Rare stuff in new tanks.
 
how much are your blues going for? The polyps are bigger than mine, just looking at the demand price right now.
