WTB: HOB filter

just doing a shout out for a HOB filter before i fork over money for a new one at the store. my 40 gallon has 2 filters on it ment for 10-20 gallon tanks, the one is OLD its from my bros tank when he had a tank nearly 20 years ago and i feel i need to have another on there as back up and to help with my algae problems. i'll take any frilter for a good price, and i mean anything, new, used, dirty, in need of repair, modified, anything. i figured i'd ask as i feel there is a good chance some one has one in their garage.

it seems that fish folk like to take over their homes garage, i know mark has grow out tanks and equipment out there and john runs his business from his garage. :lol: which is cool cause thats why he can sell things for such good prices, i hope he can keep those prices when he opens the store as then there will be overhead charges to pay like the rent.

justin, i'll take the filter and see if i can find a piece that will work, since it needs fixing i don't know if i can give ya much for it, ah heck i'll give a frag of some sort at the next meeting for it, but as for the filter can ya slip it in my mailbox? if so i'll pm my location. if i get it to work i'll give ya a bonus frag.

You may want to check with Rxbandit first,just realized the 110 is the same as the old 500 and if his is complete youll be good to go.This unit was bought for about 80 bucks back in the day and used 2 of em on the 150g,they average around 50 bucks now online.They say there rated for tanks up to 150g,but thats more like 75g tops in real life

I didnt put any sand just chaeto, and with that PC floodlight I got from the club this thing is an awesome filter now, and is just too perfect for my 15g I got from Elim(thanks again!).
Btw, you can order each and every part,the syphon tube and syphon extender will put you back around 8$ + shipping.

i can take sheldons emperor that way bluenassarisus can have RXbandits aquaclear since he is looking for a specfic kind of filter. i don't mind the highjack, i mean why not, that way ya don't have to clutter the forum with another thread. me i'm not picky, i don't care what brand it just so long as it works and does not cost me an arm and a leg! i may also take dzovis.

Lilleah - I have an old HOB filter. I have no clue if it works or not. It was originally for a 10 gallon tank. If you want it - I'll check it out to verify it works and still have all the parts. Otherwise, it goes in the garbage on Thursday. Let me know.

my computer at home is down, i am on a computer at school, i will only be able to use this computer from 12-3 tues and thurs. my laptop is totally dead, i turn it on and it says windows failed to start yadda yadda and it trys to reboot itself every 60 seconds but fails every time. my old gateway computer has a overloaded memory and possibly a virus and so the internet is faulty, when i tried to access this site from that computer (or any site!) the internet would lose its connecttion before the page finished loading, i can some times get it to stay on long enough to read my email but its a hassel and often takes a few tries. any way point is i am having problems getting online and will be hard to reach.....
