I’m upgrading from my 60 gal. freshwater convert to a 90 gal. RR around the beginning of next month. I need a few things in order to make this switch and was wondering if any of you were selling anything I might be interested in or if you could alert me should you find any good deals around RC or the internet.
What I need:
Return pump â€"œ Eheim 1262 (someone suggested this might be too much pump, but I’d rather have too much and throttle it down than not enough)
Skimmer â€"œ I’m still trying to figure out exactly what I want but I am looking for a needle wheel that can handle at least 120 gallons. I’m looking for something middle-of-the-road price wise. I can’t afford top of the line, but I also understand the value of a good skimmer. I’ve been looking at the Euro-Reefs a lot, but would like to get a better price than retail. I looked at some blems, but they were out of the models that would have been appropriate.
Lighting â€"œ The hood will have 2 110W VHO’s in it already and I’d like to add a 4 bulb (maybe 6) T5 or VHO retro. My lighting is going to rely a lot on the prices I can find because at this point I don’t have a lot of light hungry corals and even with a 4 bulb VHO I’ll be taking a step up. I can always add later.
