WTB: Mag 9.5

You are remembering that it IS a 40 gallon tank... right...?

I was going to come down to see Fred, do you need me to stop?

Yeah... a "dinky" would have been better for my ego. I was hoping for a "just not adequate" would have been manly... but I can tell by his choice of words he may need some hand holding and some back pating. I'm sure there's enough flow as the mag 7 he's using was more than adequate for the 30 gallon I was using... now if your going SPS you may want to upgrade...

All my 9.5's are plumbed in, or I'd let you give it a whirl... now's the time to look though... try stein... they clearance out all that pond stuff.

I know where there is a external pump sitting... and a couple that are WAY to big for you...

See, the mag 7 had enough flow on my 29gallon, but I used straight flexible hose from the pump up to my spray bar. Now I have 2 45s and 1 90 elbow on the return. I didn't think it would make that big of a dent in my flow though.

I can't even get nice surface movement due to the lack of flow. How do you expect my metal halide to sh-sh-sh-shimma? :bum:

When are you coming to see fred? I'd be cool to have you stop by. I'm no pro at any of this stuff.

I just want to make sure there is enough flow because I do want to keep some SPS eventually.

Tunze NanoStream?

Can you inject air into your mag 7 or put an airline near the inlet to temporally inject bubbles into the 40 to help visually see the flow you are getting?

Good idea I will try that tonight.

Whatever dude, my avatar is way smarter than yours.

TJ, you can likely fix this with some duct tape you know. :D

Scott, I doubt that the air would go thru the SQWD properly.

I just gave tj 2 ideas.

Bypass the check valve... Fred, you know what they say about bypasses... right..?

and angle the returns up, unobstructed, at a 45 degree angle.

TJ.. What exactly do you have for live stock now?

Fred, I know that guy! Duct tape king. I'm nnot sure, we may have to debate smarter... Definetly more entertaining though...

Bypasses are devices which allow some people to drive from point A to point B very fast whilst other people dash from point B to point A very fast. People living at point C, being a point directly in between, are often given to wonder what's so great about point A that so many people of point B are so keen to get there, and what's so great about point B that so many people of point A are so keen to get there. They often wish that people would just once and for all work out where the hell they wanted to be.

Right now I have a maroon clown and a peppermint shrimp in the main tank, and that poor Percula is living in my sump(the percula already jumped out of the main tank the other day because the maroon hates him/her).

So I have one fish in the main display, but I am buying a blenny soon, and possibly more depending on what I find when we do that Live Aquaria order.

This was taking with the old wide angle lens, right after I dropped in the last piece of live rock.

It needs life really bad. Don't laugh at my lighting, that will change next week :-P

Hey he's got ghetto! Looks nice, even with the elephant trunk!

J, I don't think the abbreviation (chuckle, chuckle I know what it is) SQWD stands for bubble elimination device. Wouldn't the air still pass and highlight the flow of an otherwise transparent liquid? Some bubbles may bunch up and accumulate at the internal gate of the Switching Current Water Director (or as some like to re-spell it SCWD (somebody stop me!)) and become bigger bubbles?

Avitar, smarter, doubtful? Just be prepared for the inevitable.... 'hey man, is that really you in your avitar'. As a wise bumper sticker once stated 'Duck tape is like The Force, it has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.' ;7P

I'm looking for a decent frag or a fish as a trade for the perc. He's super healthy and 1 year old.

Yaitsme,

Are you talking about my avatar? Thats definitely not me, but it "is" my maroon clownfish that I photoshopped on top of a real goldfish!!!

Cool factor, ever see the videos of the MJ mods. They always add air to the intake to demonstrate the increased flow. To get the same effect you would need to throw in a fist full of flakes. Cccooolll!

I spose you could run some micro bubbles into the intake of the pump, at a slow rate, that would work. Perhaps with a limewood air block and a air pump and a regulator valve.

Mythbusters used oatmeal, Looking back, and now that I have thought about it, I would use air as well. The thought of running anything foreign thru a scwd is mildly worry some... something could get lodged inside, or inside that cool check valve TJ Bought.

T, I maybe down that way this weekend sometime... whatch doin?

I have a mag 2400 of the shelf.

Not sure if we are going to Kewaunee yet or not. My father-in-law had heart surgery and he's a farmer, so we need to run his farm this weekend unless they get help elsewhere.

I'll keep ya posted.

I should have had my new lights shipped overnight. I'm so damn anxious its killing me!
