WTB: Pump for a 125 gallon, and a 55 gallon tank

I have an alternative to the 55 gallon for the sump: with my new set-up I have a lifereef sump to sell. Sized for up to a 200 gallon tank, made in the style of the lifereef 125 (see www.lifereef.com). It was bought new 3 years ago - in great shape. Will sell it cheap - just want to get rid of it.

Let me know if you might be interested.

It says its only 17 gallons. Im doin both a sump and fuge in the same tank so thats why i wanted a 55 for the length and maximum volume

What type of pump are you looking for? submerged or inline? I have a submersible Gen-x 6000 if you're interested, for $50. I also have a couple of Coralife turbo-sea pumps that are external, I'd have to check the sizes/models on those.

Not super quiet but I had it running on a becket skimmer and so you couldn't hear the pump over the skimmer anyways.

Drop a PM if you like.

The sump is actually larger - total capacity about 30 gallons - it was custom made in the "style" of the lifereef 125. However, you are right, it would not work for you if you you are planning on a refuge as well.

i have a 55 that is fair game.

my favorite pumps are the velocity line. they draw a little bit more power and can heat the water a bit more than other externals in the same class (though not nearly as much as a similar internal), but they are absolutely silent. the 1 through 3 have threaded connections as pictured, but the t4 has hose barbs. i'd get the t3 for that size tank.

its got a 1 inch intake, 3/4 return. 2 overflows. the guy i got it from was runnin a mag 12on it. so i guess i atleast need to be doin that. but he had a custom 75 gallon sump/fuge that he built as well so i guess the water wouldnt be moving through the sump/fuge as fast as it would with a 55 gallon

when comparing pumps make sure to look at the flow curves. there are basically 2 kinds of pump, pressure and circulation. you can very easily have a pressure pump that is rated for xxx outpump a circ pump that is rated for significantly more, especially depending on how it's plumbed.
