WTB Rics & Mushrooms... Project Tank...

As some of you may know I'm messing with a project tank (also my frag tank) in which I am cutting up mushrooms (soon try a ric or four) and tossing them in among my LR rubble on the floor of my prop tank. I am trying to see the success rates of different quarterings or dicings of my shrooms.

This is where you come into play, anyone have an abundance of mushrooms or rics I could purchase that would give me a variety of specimens to mess with? So far I have just tried quartering a red mushroom I got from Scott and am monitoring the success rate of the 4 pieces...

If it works well for shrooms I might try a ric or whatnot, so we'll see what happens.

Just toss me a PM of what you might have... and this is not an educational thing, its personal experimentation on a home tank!

It works for rics... I've done it to many Florida species, but haven't to any Yumas... The hardier Yumas I'd try it with, but not the more delicate/colorfull ones, for they have a tendancy to melt on you...

Yeah, you're doing well to just keep a pink Yuma alive for more than a few months!

I just quartered another shroom, its a brown with green stripes/spots in it. Its been growing a huge colony in my 8g nano at school so I brought it home and got the scalpal out. So I have 4 red pieces and 4 brown/green pieces.

Also picked up a nice florescent green and florescent red mushrooms from the CR today and Sunday. I will get them to split a few times before I slice and dice those guys, need to have back ups incase things go south.

I still don't have the guts to try a ric yet, when I see how the mushrooms do I'll try it.

Well time for an update and more requests...

The red mushroom I split into four pieces are all growing, there are 4 little mushrooms growing from the 4 pieces!

The green/brown mushroom I split into four pieces, I haven't seen anything from yet!

I have a few mushrooms I picked up from the CR that I am growing out a bit more before I hack those guys.

I am still looking for rics, no one seems to have any except Reeflover sold me two when he broke down his tank.

So if anyone has some interesting mushrooms or rics they're selling at the fragswap let me know becuase I won't be able to make the swap :/
