I'm looking for something like this:

Does anyone have one they're trying to get rid of or know where to get one or something equivalent? Preferably with a drain.

Thanks!
Jason

tractor supply has them for $69 and you have to replace the stock bulkhead with a good one. I have one and love it. Check out my thread by clicking on the red house

Thanks for all your replies... I stopped by TSC and picked one up from there since it's right around the corner from my house.

chrismhaase: is there something wrong with the bulkheads that come with the tank?

not to speak for him but they are not as good as a aquarium bulkhead. i've got a 300 gallon vat with the standard and it leaked. i just replaced it with a 2" and the 100 gallon has (2) 2" installed. there are cheap. sitc should have some

No, or I dont know. They just looked a little "cheesy" so I replaced it. No problems so far.

I agree completely. Don't risk it, especially over $10

Okay so I took off the stock bulkhead, but the problem is it's OD is 2". A 1" bulkhead has a 1 5/8" OD and a 1.25" bulkhead has a 2 3/16" OD.

The gasket and head of the 1" bulkhead is 2.5" diameter so it'll cover the hole in the container but I'm concerned it'll only overlap by about 1/8" to 1/4" (if I can center it perfectly).

Is it safe to use the 1" bulkhead or should I drill the hole larger and go with the 1.25" bulkhead?

Or does anyone know of a place that sells bulkheads with a 2" OD on the threads?

Thanks,
Jason

I'm going to be using it as a sump and I'm just using a submersible Mag 7 for my return so I really don't even need to use the bulkhead, I just need to plug the hole where the bulkhead is.

What did you notice about the bulkhead that looked inferior? The one that came installed on it looked pretty heavy duty and had rubber gaskets on both sides:

it was not the thickness of the bulkhead it's the square base. on mine it leak due to edges getting weak and not sealing. the stock will do good but over time it may cause you a problem. that why i was aying for a few dollars why not fix the possible concern now instead of waiting for it to leak. on of my issues it that the bulkheads in the tank are mounted to glass which is pretty flat compared to ther ubbermaid that is not. also keep in mind when they designed the rubbermaid tank they didn't think it was going to be used for aquariums and inside the house
