WTB Sand Sifting Starfish

they feed on microfauna, which counter acts the purpose of a DSB. you keep a DSB to house microfauna, the star comes in and basically "empties" your sand bed, making it inert.

they may keep shallow sand beds clean, but more than likely a SSB wont provide enough food for the star and it will slowly starve.

anyway, we normally have them at suffolk county fish and reef if your out this way, James. but for the price, go with yeahcheetahs.

I've have one for over 2years now, and in a shallow bed for the last year and he's doing well. I heard after buying him that they arend good for a dsb, but i never had nitrate issues anyway so i didn't worry about it. Everyone loves him so i can't get rid of him. he does keep the sand bed clean, and i think james has enough tank to keep him fed.
