True, and false. Overall flow is actually increased with the larger tubing, but the velocity of the water is decreased. To get the optimal flow from a pump, run 1" tubing up as far as possible, then reduce it to 3/4". It is a very simple matter to use a 3/4" to 1" adapter at the pump. If you want to increase the velocity of water out of the SS, then just use a 1" MPT to 3/4" Barb instead of the 1" MPT to barb adapter. If you want to wait for a cheaper 3/4" to become available, no sweat. If you want to come by and check these out, LMK.
