I am looking for a reasonably priced skimmer for a 75 gallon tank. The tank is cycling now but will be heavily stocked in the future. Please post what you have and price. Thank you

What's the 50/90 rule shanealan and poolkeeper? Seeing as how I am new to reefcentral please enlighten me with some soup

To Buy or Sell any Items you must have been a member for 90 day's and have made at least 50 meaningful posts before you can use the site for buying/selling You can read the user agreement you signed when you joined the site.
Sonner or later the Mods will close this thread for the reasons stated above 50/90 rule.

PS, Welcome to RC though and MTRC Welcomes you too....

Your Welcome

Your Welcome

Ok sorry for that. Thank you poolkeeper.

All you would get is a warning and told the reason why your thread was closed. It wouldn't hurt to read the user agreement once to see what's OK and what's not. Pretty much everything hinges around that 50/90 rule then your good to go!
Bill:thumbsup:

Sorry Fireman. Actually it had nothing to do with you or your post. It was an inside thing from the recent past. I know Algood well. Had a good friend who lived across the street from the ball diamond. I graduated Tech in '02. Crazy times. Welcome to MTRC.

+1 on the welcome to RC, MTRC, and on reading the agreement.
there are some non-intuituve rules... i was once busted for try'n to trade a kegorator for a calcium reactor. the reef related only applys for both sides of the trade, who knew??

again welcome,
-bart

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I will be sure to read my agreement. Looking forward to gaining a ton of knowledge from here as well as some used equipment. Lol.

bart, if you are looking to get rid of a kegerator, do let me know......

sorry for the Hijack.

Fireman, dont forget to check out ebay for used skimmers. you can find some deals on there as well and no post issues.

I think I need to step in here and straighten a few things out. First, the 50/90 in the club forums only applies to selling or trading, no issues with buying before contributing 50 posts and 90 days of membership :D. Of course we don't want to see somebody just using Reef Central to just buy stuff and not contributing elsewhere, but that is a different matter entirely.

You can take a look at this sticky to familiarize yourself with our 50/90 rule: Selling on ReefCentral. :)

fireman23,

First off welcome to the forum and the club. There are many great people and advice givers in here. Be open to all whom answer. One major thing I can say before posting a question is please search and search some more. Just about every question has been asked and 90% of the time if you can not find it then ask and some one usually has a link to the archived threads, if your not sure where those are.

Now my opinion: I used the coralife super skimmer 125 for over 5 years on my heavy stocked 75 gallon reef. It's not the greatest skimmer to use but with small adjustments and once you get to know the skimmer it does pull some nice skim. It took a while to get tuned in but it was what i had and made it work well. I'm trying to design a way to install it on my new system at the moment. If you can get it cheap i'd say give it a try and do the needle wheel mod on it.

Very good, Love to be wrong in this case! I really thought it was a no no to buy before your 50/90 was up. I could swear a buddy was not able to view the sale forums before his 50/90 was up as they were blocked from view.
