Mine has shipped and is in transit! dublo8 how are you like the Phoenix bulb? How is your sps color with it? I have used them in the past but had other issues that caused color problems so I could not judge the bulb every well. I am considering switching back from the 20ks I am using now.

Dont know I wish I would have bid lower now. But still $95 shipped is a real deal.

Tell me that not an unrefined NAC7. We will need to do a review on these skimmers once we have had them for a little while. Rippinfrags might have ordered one as well.

I agree, however the collection cup looks to be quite a bit smaller.
Other than that they are twins.
For the price, no complaints here.

I love the phoenix bulb. I also have the 20k plusrite that isn't to shabby either. I have been trying to find something with less blue and more of the purple color to it and the plusrite gives it to me. But you have to remember that bulbs look different on different ballasts. My phoenix is more purple on mine than it is on the ice cap ballast.

Sweet, always out to help fellow reefers a frag will do just fine though. Yea the cup does look a bit smaller it is an Atman pump though from all I can tell.

I also use an Icecap ballast, makes the Phoenix a crisp bright white with no yellow and my Oddysea 20k a nice blue but the 20k is old and getting replaced in a few days. It will be interesting to see how the new 20k looks compared to the old one. I remember the Oddysea 20k only being a little bluer than the Phoenix but now it looks very blue.
 
I got it!! So a little review on first inspection. It is a very well built skimmer, better than my Reef Octopus and better than many high end skimmers I have seen. It is not a BM though but the seller said it is an Atman pump and is very similar to the NAC7 and yes it is. But there are a few differences but I am not complaining. It was packaged well and shipped fast. Now to clean it and make room in my sump for this bad boy. Sorry I can post up pics Photobucket is being gay I will as soon as I can though.

I hope this skimmer works out...I put in an offer of 75 and he took it....pretty tough to beat for that kind of money and it even includes shipping. I will be waiting for your review.
 
All hooked up and running. It has been going for 15-20 min and it is already making a foam head. I just gave it a hot water bath as I have no vinegar. It is very quite, dead silent almost with my NW110 silencer on it. Very easy to adjust water level, looks like it will be a beast.

I will be closely following your progress with it. I need to upgrade from my Vertex IN100 to something that can handle my 150. Are you running it on a 150?
 
Ya, I got mine and set it up on my buddies 50gal +20sump reef.
It produces a good bubble and a nice frothy foam top.
I'd recommend it on a tank 90g or less.(light stock)
Def no where near the 150g rating.
Overall:
It's a good working cone skimmer, and its under $80 shipped brand new.
Build quality is... well... good, but you do somewhat get what you pay for.
The pump surprised me with how well it performs tho.
In the right setup this could be a solid little skimmer
 
I'm not brave enough to pull the trigger on buying one of these skimmers, eBay scares me! Even though they are only 90 dollars shipped I do not want to go through the hassle of replacing it after six months, with a quality skimmer. Not trying to discourage any from buying one or who has already bought one, they could turn out to be decent products!
