WTB: Skimmer

I'm interested in purchasing a skimmer for my 55gal. I don't have a sump either and would be interested in installing an entire system if I could figure out how all that worked! Lol.

This is a link to an animated sump/overflow system. There are lots of DIY sump plans around.... it's basically another tank under your main one that holds your skimmer, heaters, some LR/LS and macro algae for biological filtration. There is usually something for mechanical filtration as well.
Try ebay or the "for sale" area here for used items, almost always a better deal. Hook-up with some Des Moines people and they'll help you out

What are you doing Saturday? I'm sure we'll see a few different sumps on our tour that may give you a very good idea on how things work.
