wtb - small copperband

my peppermind shrimp doesn't seem to be eating my aiptaisa, so i want to try a small copperband. yes, i know a 29g is too small for a med/large copperband. i'll return it to a lfs or find someone locally who wants it once my aiptasia is gone.

so if anyone sees a small (2" or so) copperband at a lfs in the area, please let me know. i'd really appreciate it.

uh it doesn't work that way Ben, they aiptasia will grow back, using a natural predator only works when the predator is left in the tank permanently.

You make me sick, how would you like to trapped in a 8x8 cage all day.

sounds like my cubicle at work, where's my stapler ?

you sure about that legoz?

from what i have read, once the aiptasia is gone, copperbands will sometimes starve because they are finicky eaters. ...and i could swear someone here was passing around a copperband to other locals sometime last year to eat other peoples' aiptasia... ?

Is it a red Swingline? I saw Lundberg with one the other day..... :D

Ben - I was offering the services of my Copperband last year. Unfortunately, I didn't get any takers, and it died. I believe it did starve to death, due to lack of Aiptasia. And, none of my Aiptasia have come back so far *knock on wood*.

Nice

Three Musketeers, atleast you used the latest characters. Love it. Sorry off topic but I hadn't noticed it until I read the RC names. :)

wondered when someone would notice. i figured henry would be the first. :bum:

has anyone had luck with their copperband. I've had mine for a few months and he eats everything but aiptasia. He's very healthy just not helpful

Ray at capitol corals in springfield has had the same copperbanded butterfly in the trough since he opened and it eats great and anytime he gets liverock with aptasia and puts it in there it eats it.

yes, you are apparently correct. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-01/ac/feature/index.php

however, it looks like some of the aiptasia may be disappearing. there are two little buggers right towards the front of the tank that i've been keeping an eye on and they aren't there today. ...so maybe the peppermint is coming out at night to eat. during the day he pretty mcuh keeps to his hole. it's not like i have a huge infestation...and the ones that i do have are very small, so hopefully he'll get them taken care of.

well, scratch this request.

came home today after work and can't find a single aiptasia in the tank. there may be a few hiding where i can't see them, but they are obviously disappearing faster than i can keep track of them. the peppermint must be doing his job.

sweet.
