i have afriend whos setting up a reef it is cycling as we speak he has a 55g and wants to do t5ho lighting seeing if anyone has any used setups for sale or knows of a cheap website.

http://www.fishneedit.com/. He sells them on ebay. Only one powercord but I am sure you can redo it so that it has 2 powercord, so you can control the lights a little better. I am prob going to order from them once I have my 75 set up. They are almost similiar to the current Nova that I have right now with the exception of some led lights.

not to hijack the thread, but on those fishneedit lights they do not have individual reflectors. Does that make a huge difference in the light output? I'm looking for some T5s also.

Although I am new at reefing, I have the nova extreme T5s that do not have individual reflectors. And all my corals that I have in there are growing just fine, although I do not have any SPS yet. Pretty much all of my corals are at the bottom of my tank, and I do feed my tank everyday. So to be honest I don't know if its the feeding that is making them grow or the lights. If you have the money then I would suggest getting the individual reflectors. But if you are like me and want to save wherever you can so the wife doesn't complain too much. I am buying these lights for my new tank. If you do decide to buy these lights though, I think you would have to open them up to run an extra power cord, because they only have one. Can't control much lights with one power cord.
