I bought it off a guy named "AcrylicCity" (If I recall correctly). I drilled and tapped in an extra line to re-circulate CO2. The design was such that the pump pulled water from the bottom and shot it down from the top, which made it compact the media. Also CO2 would build up at the top (where the effluent output is) and I had to put that extra line there so the pump could suck the CO2 back in. Overall just badly designed.
I just recently made a T device so I could take the input from the return pump. Previously, I was letting it siphon from the tank. Then I tried an aqualifter. Algae would just clog the lines all the time though.
I just have had problems with the thing. Most likely I'll take the body and redo the pump lines to be a "bottom up" reactor. I think it cost me $70 when I bought it 2-3 years ago.
If I had to BUY a new one, I think I'd go for one of the "My Reef Creations" ones. When I was doing research into reactors, I think it pointed me to the MRC reactors as the best value for the money. Now that I have some space and some (tiny) acrylic skills, I want to make the aquare "DJ88" reactor, which is basically what the club built in the DIY workshop.
*edit* the DJ88 reactor is the one on Melev's site.
