wiltng zenia....stalk length is determined by how much light it gets. The more light the smaller and more compact the zenia, the less light the longer the strands will grow. Did you just get this?
its directly under a 175 watt halide.
the tank before this it was directly under t5s ( in a tank setup the same as hard coral tanks)
now half of it is in my display and that has acros growing on the bottom of the tank. and its also inmy frag tank (least light of all the tanks.)
it is not in need of light in any way. it is growning. it is fine. i know when coral needs more light and if anyhting this could use a lil less and still be fine.
im temped to give a frag away at the next fmas meeting to see if it starts to get long in some one else;s tank as well!
( it seems like when it spreads it takes a long time for it to get sthat long
as soon as i get a frag of what i know is the longer xenia ( seems to be two types of xenia on this rock. one stalks the other dosnt) once im sure i got the right frag. do you want a piece to see if it acts the same?
omg wierd... went back to work and the frag from work is doing somthing wierd..
TWO of the polyp. stalks ( or what ever you call them .. part between base and the polyp) have grown together and formed a mini colony. where they meet it looks like a whole nother lil colony.. i need to try to get a pict of this!!!
i swear this corla was exposed to radiation or somthing lol
