X-Terminator - Help

I have a mantis in my tank that came with my TBS rock. I've just received the X-terminator and can't seem to get the door to stay open. My first reaction was that it was a defective trap, but maybe I'm missing something.

I keep trying to get the door to stay open, but I can't quite get the door to "catch" on the plastic lever piece so that it stays open. Seems like that piece is just a bit too short.

Any suggestions?

Use a "bottle trap" -- described as such throughout this forum (just do a search).
