xanthid crab?

No picture but found small crab on LR. The crab is about the size of a pinkie fingernail.It 's body is black an heart shaped.The legs are dark brown an tan striped. I think it is a xathid crab .I have him isolated now. Should I keep him ????

Without a photo to go by, all I can do is to refer you to my hitch hiker pages and see if you have a match. Hint, do not go by coloration but by its carapace (shell?). Also note its claw tips as some cling crabs can look like a xanthid as well. Hope it is of use to you.
